A METHOD TO ANALYZE SOCCER OFFENSIVE SEQUENCES

There is a range of possibilities to analyze the soccer game in relation to physical-technical-tactical aspects. The importance of going toward the goal rapidly since the recovery of possession was defended by Grehaigne et al (1996). The main technique to analyze soccer attack speed in literature was presented by Yue et al (2008). A splitting approach for the fully nonlinear and weakly dispersive Green-Naghdi model

The fully nonlinear and weakly dispersive Green-Naghdi model for shallow water waves of large amplitude is studied. The original model is first recast under a new formulation more suitable for numerical resolution. An hybrid finite volume and finite difference splitting approach is then proposed. The hyperbolic part of the equations is handled with a high-order finite volume scheme allowing for breaking waves and dry areas. The dispersive part is treated with a classical finite difference approach. Extensive numerical validations are then performed in one horizontal dimension, relying both on analytical solutions and experimental data. The results show that our approach gives a good account of all the processes of wave transformation in coastal areas: shoaling, wave breaking and run-up

No aggression in a 4-year-old boy with an androgen-producing tumour: Case Report

BACKGROUND: The androgen testosterone plays a critical role in many aspects of sexual differentiation. Also, it is thought to induce aggressive behaviours or to play a role in social dominance. CASE PRESENTATION: In this case report a 4-year-old boy is described whose testosterone and dehydroepiandrosterone sulphate (DHEA-S) levels were raised to pubertal levels due to a testosterone producing testis tumour. This provided the unique opportunity to examine the effects of elevated levels of androgens on levels of aggression or on social dominance before the onset of puberty. CONCLUSION: The present case report does not support the hypothesis of a causal relationship between testosterone and aggression or between testosterone and social dominance in young children
